Metalworking and CNC milling at Veenstra Technology
Metalworking is a speciality. The manufacturing of parts and machines out of all kinds of materials requires heavy equipment and professionals who know exactly what they are doing. We have our own production facility, where we can help you manufacture the products you need from design to finished product. One of the production methods we use is CNC milling: a method in which a piece of metal is very accurately shaped into the required form by means of a milling machine.
Veenstra Technology has over 100 years of experience in metalworking: in 1921 the forge was established from which we have grown to become the company we are today. We are happy to put the knowledge and experience we have gained over the years to work for you. When it comes to metalworking, we can help you with methods such as: CNC turning, axial grooving, boring and welding.
How does CNC milling work?
Like CNC turning, CNC milling is a machining technique. In CNC milling, parts of the material of the end product are milled by means of a rotating cutter. This creates chips, curls of metal or other material, which come off the product.
CNC milling is a computer-controlled technique; CNC stands for Computer Numerical Control. The movements are programmed and then executed by a computer. This allows the actions to be repeated easily. As a result, each product is 100% identical, which is important when producing products such as gearboxes, racks, mounting plates and keyways.
With CNC milling, various techniques are possible. With 2D milling, the required shape is cut out of the material. With 3D milling, shapes can be programmed from a 3D CAD model and produced in 3D.
Using CNC milling to manufacture your products
Are you looking for new parts for one of your machines? We can draw the part you need and produce it to order using CNC milling. In addition, our specialists can reverse engineer an existing part or product, even in large series.
CNC milling is suitable for manufacturing products of all sizes. We have various milling machines in our own production facility. This allows us to create your product in the desired shape, regardless of the material and size.
Besides metal, plastics can also be processed into the desired shape using CNC milling.
